Albert Rogers
altStoker First Class Albert Rogers was in the Royal Navy, and on 6 June 1944 at 6:45 AM he was part of one of the first groups to land on altthe American Omaha Beach running supplies ship to shore. He was just 21 years old. At that time, he brought in 400 gerry cans full of petrol. Returning to the ship he carried on to the Americans on Utah Beach. His ship was sunk in the horrendous storm of 19 June, and he spent considerable time in the water until he was rescued by the Americans. Albert was also in the Buffs and sent to Singapore and Asia fighting the Japanese.

We were all deeply sadened when Albert passed away on the 5th June, 2010. Thank you Albert for your kindness, friendship and all you did to help others And so this nation looses another of our unsung heroes to whom we all owe so much.
