In Remembrance of Albert & Stan
Saturday, 12 February 2011 13:55
albert1We were so very sorry to lose more colleagues of late.  In June, our dear friend Albert Rogers passed away.  Albert was always such a supporter of our association and indeed helped at various charity collections.  Albert was in the Royal Navy and was on the infamous Omaha Beach on D-Day.

After his ship was sunk he was transferred into the Army and was sent to Java and Singapore with the war against the Japanese.

Albert was also one of the founder members of the Finchley 95th branch of the Normandy Veterans Association.  To you dear Albert, rest in peace and thank you.  Our blessings to his wife Millie.
In a matter of weeks after learning of the passing of Albert, we were saddened to hear of the passing of another veteran, Stan Jackson, who lived in St. Neots, Cambridgeshire.  Stan was in the REME during WWII and again a supporter of ours.  He was also responsible for supporting our President some years ago in his role as Chairman of his branch of the Normandy Veterans Association.alt

Stan had taken part in many D-Day commemorations in Normandy and again was one of the co-founders of the 95th Finchley /Barnet Branch of the Normandy Veterans Association.  To his wife and family, we send our blessings.alt

And so, sadly, this nation loses two more of our unsung heroes to whom we owe so much.
