D-Day Commemorations
Monday, 25 May 2009 14:44
The Association is now making the final preparations for the annual Pilgrimage of Remembrance to Normandy for the 65th Anniversary of D-Day (6 June 1944-2009) commemorations.  Unfortunately, this year sees the last of the nationally organised events. As a result, accomodation in Normandy is very difficult to find at this late stage.  We are blessed to have a fantastic relationship with the manager of the Formule 1 Hotel in Caen, and so had rooms reserved for all of our members and guests well in advance.

As in past pilgrimages we are travelling with a group of students, this year with 10 students from St. Joseph's primary school in Hendon.  A group from the same school made the journey with us in 2007.  The veterans were impressed with how polite they were and how interested they were in the events and activities going on throughout the region.  Here's to another memorable pilgrimage!
