Cllr Terry Burton, Presid...: HMS Fernie
Dear Mr Jenkins,
In response to your message in our guest book we do indeed have a member who was on HMS Fernie on D-day. I'm sure he would be delighted to make contact with your father. But you did not give us a way of contacting you.
So please send your contact details to cllr.t.burton@barnet.gov.uk
Thank you
Terry

David Jenkins: Mr
My dad served on Hms Fernie from 1940 until the end of the war as an able seaman his name is Ivor Rees Jenkins and was 89 last april 2009 and he is still going strong. It is nice to know that some of his ship mate are still around, is there any way that we can contact them? As i am sure they would have a lot to talk about.
We live in pembrokeshire and it would be really nice to hear from anyone who served with him
THANK YOU

Thank you for coming to talk to us at the American School in London. I really liked learning about the war through something other than a textbook. Thanks again!

Thank you so much for coming to our school to let us know about what you went through. It was a real eye opener to know that movies these days are ten time less intense than the actual war itself. It was a pleasure to have you at our school.

Hello,
I attended your inspirational talk at my school, and it was just amazing. As I am only 14, I cannot be very empathetic of your scarring experiences serving. I hear from many people, including you, that war is indescribable. I try to imagine it by watching movies, and playing video games, but I know inside that none of it is possible to describe from an outside perspective. Everyone who is brave enough to serve in the war should be very proud.

Ms. Penny Giehl: Teacher
Thanks again, to all of you, for spending your Sunday afternoon with us at the American School in London. We appreciate it so much that you spent your time sharing stories of your experiences and chatting with the students. I asked students who attended the presentation to share with their classmates the things that stood out in their minds from your presentation; they showed that they were listening intently to the recall of your experiences. They really enjoyed themselves! Have a lovely spring and look forward to speaking with you all again next year.
Best wishes,
Penny Giehl
