Craig Brooker: Mr
I recently met Mr. Terry Burton and his family in Jacksonville, Fl. and he told of this web site, which I have found to be a great tribute to the men who sacrificed so much for later generations. It is well to never let their memory or deeds to be obsured with the passing of time. So many times people of my generation only have accounts of the D-Day invasion and the war in whole displayed and illistrated by movies, television, history books, which can lose the first person narrative that the stories of these vets contain. Thank you for your time and committment in providing this website. All my best to Terry.
Best regards,
Craig Brooker

Koen Van Parijs: Mr T. Burton at Arromanches
Dear Sirs,
My wife and I had the pleasure and honour to meet and talk to Mr. Terry Burton, during the D-Day anniversary this year at Arromanches, Normandy. We would like to mail/send some pictures we took over there which you might find interesting. We were there for our honeymoon: we wanted to spend it amongst veterans-we know several. Not your average honeymoon, but then again: we both deeply respect and admire WW II Veterans for what they did: they made us free men and women. But we respect ALL veterans: they fight for other people's rights, even if afterwards one war turns out to be an "unpopular"one, and another doesn't. Soldiers don't get to choose where they are deployed: they do their very best, and we love you for it.
Koen and Patricia Van Parijs

I also had a relative who served aboard HMS Fernie he was William Leonard Sambles from Cornwall. Unfortunately he died aboard ship 11th July 1942 during the preparations for Operation Jubliee.
I am currently looking into how this happened for my family history, Is there anyone there who could help me?

Cllr Terry Burton, Presid...: HMS Fernie
Dear Mr Jenkins,
In response to your message in our guest book we do indeed have a member who was on HMS Fernie on D-day. I'm sure he would be delighted to make contact with your father. But you did not give us a way of contacting you.
So please send your contact details to cllr.t.burton@barnet.gov.uk
Thank you
Terry

My dad served on Hms Fernie from 1940 until the end of the war as an able seaman his name is Ivor Rees Jenkins and was 89 last april 2009 and he is still going strong. It is nice to know that some of his ship mate are still around, is there any way that we can contact them? As i am sure they would have a lot to talk about.
We live in pembrokeshire and it would be really nice to hear from anyone who served with him

Thank you for coming to talk to us at the American School in London. I really liked learning about the war through something other than a textbook. Thanks again!

Claire Brown: Thanks!!! :)
Hi,
Thank you very much for coming and speaking at my school. It was a pleasure to hear your amazing stories. They were very interesting and taught me a lot about what it was like to actually witness this war.
Thanks again,
Claire :)

Sawyer Owens: Thanks!
Thank you so much for coming to our school to let us know about what you went through. It was a real eye opener to know that movies these days are ten time less intense than the actual war itself. It was a pleasure to have you at our school.
